INTRODUCTION

There are two places you will generally see photos on this site:-

    1. As part of messages posted in the forum  (please note only registered users can post to the forum).

    2. In the Image Gallery

There is no hard and fast rule about what goes where although I suggest that photos of particular occasions like a Treffen or Christmas party go in the gallery and that one or two photos relevant to the content of a post, go inside the post. For example, if you want to show a picture of an exciting puncture (Colin?) tell us the story in a post and show us a couple of pics to illustrate it.

You can post images to the Image gallery by using the built in functionality of the site to upload images to the site from your PC.

Images to be included in forum posts are treated differently - they need to be hosted somewhere on the Internet. For this purpose people generally make use of one of the dozens of hosting sites like Photobucket or Flickr. Then, the URL of the image to be posted has to be "grabbed" from the site and put in the forum post.

(If you have a digital camera, then one of these sites makes it very easy to share your photos with other people. They can visit your site, download photos, print them and so forth. Many of these sites offer free accounts that store limited numbers of photos (although the limits can be large) and there are also paid accounts which usually offer more options and much larger, even unlimited storage).

POSTING IMAGES FROM YOUR PC TO THE GALLERY

Members can post their images to existing albums within the gallery. If you want a new album for your pictures, send the administrator a message to this effect and say what title you wish to give it. A new album will then be set up with the chosen name and you can thereafter post images to it.
